The first Obamacare deadline is almost here! Watch the video below and put the open enrollment dates in your calendar! You don’t want to miss your deadline!
Three Open Enrollment Deadlines
The Affordable Care Act deadlines are based on the open enrollment time frame. Open enrollment is from November 1st to January 31st of the following year. There are three deadlines during those three months. The first Obamacare deadline is right around the corner on December 15th. This first deadline is for anyone needing a January 1st effective date. In other words, people, whose plans are not renewing after the end of this year, need to take care of their enrollment by December 15th. It’s imperative to meet the deadlines so that individuals have continuous coverage, especially for those that have health issues. The second Obamacare deadline is January 15th. From December 16th to January 15th, people can enroll for February 1st effective dates. Lastly, January 16th to January 31st is the time period in which to enroll for a March 1st effective date.
Missing the First Obamacare Deadline – Consequences of Procrastinating
It’s important not to procrastinate when it comes to the open enrollment deadlines because healthcare.gov is not always reliable. Every year for the last three enrollments the website crashes as the deadlines approach. In previous years, they’ve had to extend the deadlines. Typically, they extend the January 1st effective date deadline on December 15th. However, there’s no guarantee that they will do so again.
Get with an Agent Today
Therefore, get with your agent as soon as possible because you don’t want to miss your Obamacare deadline. Especially this year with so many carriers getting out of the market and not renewing plans. Then on the other hand, the plans that are staying in the market are increasing their rates.
Don’t wait. If you wait, you may have to enroll on your own without the assistance of an agent. You should talk to an agent about the best available plans for you and your family.
