How do you maintain personal space during a quarantine? That’s tricky especially when you’re stuck at home with your significant other for god knows how long. No able to go to work, not able to go out with friends, not really able to do much. That’s why your personal space is so important. It’s hard to be apart in such a small space, you could easily get on each other’s nerves. Something that obviously is not very conducive to a healthy relationship. So here are a few suggestions for ‘You’ time.
Read a book (or listen)
Reading is said to be calming. It’s one of those things you can do outside, on the couch or even in bed. There are tons of books you can get on your iPad, or iPhone if you don’t have physical copies. You can even use a service like audible to listen to books rather than reading them. It can be just as relaxing and calming. Regardless of what your preferred method is, it’s sure to help you relax and keep out of your partners way.
Go for a walk
Walking is not only a great way to relieve stress, but also a great way to get out of your house and relax. Put some headphones in, crank up the tunes, and go for a walk. I personally love long walks. It’s the best part of the day because its when I can think things out and even plan for the upcoming events and week.
Go for a bike ride
Much like walking, riding your bike is relaxing and a great way to enjoy the fresh air. Unlike walks, riding a bike gives you speed and blows air in your face. Something that a lot of people find enjoyable.
Take care of projects at home
Whether that’s a deep clean, moving furniture around, cleaning out the attic or going through old stuff and donating it. There are almost always projects that can be done, painting that cabinet you’ve been meaning to for a decade. There’s so much that can always be done around the house that I’m either too busy to do or too lazy to do. I’m sure it’s the same for you! Assign each other projects and knock them out. Not only is it productive, but it also accomplishes your time goal.
