How to Slow Down the Aging Process

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to be able to slow down the effects of aging. As our number of days on earth become fewer and fewer, our bodies begin to slow down, muscles tighten up, even our heart rate becomes slower. Aging is normal and a part of all life, but that doesn’t mean you have to let the process start sooner than it has to. There are many things you can actually do to slow down the effects of aging. Today, I’m going to share some helpful tips to help you feel younger than you actually are.

Why Do We Age?

The average life expectancy, at least in the United States, is 77 years old. Our genetics hold the key to our aging, or at least in theory. There is no definite reason we age, but most scientists believe that the death of our cells over time causes aging. Although our cells repair themselves, some cells cannot, and that damage accumulates. Biologist seems to boil down the other theories to this conclusion: as we get older, our fertility declines and our probability of dying increases.

Ways to Slow Down Aging

Although we can’t stop aging, there are ways to help slow down the effects. Some of the ways to reduce the speed of aging is reducing your stress. Chronic stress takes years off your life and adds many wrinkles to your skin. Whether it’s meditating, relaxing, getting more sleep, or talking about your stress, there are several methods that help reduce stress.

Another great way to slow down the aging process is to consume antioxidants. Antioxidants protect the brain from free radicals, which damage the cells of the body, including the brain. The best part is antioxidants can be found in all types of food, including milk, fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, fish, and so much more. A balanced diet can help you produce a good amount of antioxidants. Lastly, ditch the sugar and even go gluten-free; both can help slow down the process of aging.

Products to Slow the Process

Working out keeps your muscles strong, and burning those extra calories will help you be in the best shape possible. Using natural skin products can also minimize wrinkles and keep you looking young. Using things, such as lotion, to keep your skin looking moist and smooth is important in retaining youthfulness. One product in particular, coconut oil, helps trap moisture in your skin. There are plenty of other products, such as Hydro-boost, enzyme scrubs, even anti-aging creams, that help you look younger. For a list of name brand products, visit today.com.
