Do not forget to take care of your winter body.

We take care of our summer body every season. However, when it comes to taking care of my winter body, we are a little lazy. Taking care of the body is not about beach trips or pool parties. In fact, it is about having a long and healthy life. Having excessive fat leads to a lot of health issues including diabetes, heart problems, strokes, and cancer.

Approximately, 35% of Americans have Obesity. Obesity is calculated by your BMI (Body Mass Index)

Body Mass Index (BMI) = Weight (KG) ÷ Height (Metres²)

A standard BMI of a healthy person ranges from 19 – 25. Anything ranging from 25-30 is considered overweight. BMI greater than 30 indicated a person is obese. Try calculating your BMI to find out if you are the right weight.

However, If you have already put on weight, here are some great tips to reduce a few pounds in a short time.

If you are not looking forward to working out much, controlling what you eat is a good way to lose weight. Particularly, you can substitute refined carbs like white bread, breakfast cereals, with whole-grains like quinoa, oats, brown rice, and Barley.

Keeping a count of what you are eating vs. what you are burning is a good way to avoid excess fat. Idly consuming 1200 to 1500 calories per day is effective for weight loss.

Include fruits, vegetables, and other whole grains to your diet. This makes you feel fuller and helps stabilize blood sugar levels.

An increase in protein can reduce your appetite leading to cut down your calorie intake.

  1. Sleep enough

As you are sleeping, your body is fasting which helps you lose good amount of weight

  1. Intermittent fasting

This is a good way to cleanse your body. It lasts for about 16-24 hours. Eating every 8 hours and in small quantities can help you lose weight.

  1. Fill up with veggies and skip Sauces and Condiments

Toppings are very unhealthy and full of calories. Avoiding them is a good way to reduce calorie intake. Veggies are rich in fiber and intaking this will reduce your intake of carbs and make you feel full.

  1. Cardio and moving around

Cardio is the best way to burn your fat and reduce weight. 30-40 min every day can show weight loss very early. If you are not ready to do that, moving around throughout your day or taking stairs is also a good way to get your steps in.
