Healthy Heart

Coconut has long been seen as a tropical miracle fruit. And the hype isn’t for nothing– it has tons of benefits and healing properties! The first thing to note is that coconut is your heart’s friend. Research has shown that it has a neutral effect on cholesterol, however, it’s been proven to decrease waist size in men with obesity by about 1 inch. Coconut has also shown signs of helping individuals maintain blood sugar control. Due to its wealth of vitamins and minerals such as Magnesium, Copper, Manganese, and more, coconut is a great super food supplement to add to your everyday routine. Coconut is also a great source of fiber and protein. If you are looking to up your protein or fiber intake, 1 cup of raw coconut meat contains 9 grams of fiber and 3 grams of protein. To double that, 1 cup of dried coconut meat offers you 18 grams of fiber and 7.5 grams of protein.

Healthy Diet

Whether you are in the mood for sweet or savory, coconut is a great pairing. A few common baking essentials that can easily be replaced by coconut are four, cooking oil, milk, and sugar. Coconut oil is heat-stable and great for sautéing, baking and roasting. Coconut flour has a slightly different texture than regular wheat flour but works just as well. Additionally, coconut flour is wheat, dairy, and grain-free which makes it a perfect substitution when you are cooking with dietary restrictions. Drinking coconut water is great when you are not feeling well as it’s loaded with nutrients. Also good to note is that the MCTs (medium-chain triglycerides) found in coconut metabolize much differently than other types of fats. They are absorbed by the small intestines quickly and turned into energy. However, if you are counting calories, you may want to limit the amount of coconut-derived products that you consume because they are high in fat.

Healthy Hair

There are plenty of expensive hair masks and hair products on the market that specialize in healing damaged hair. Luckily, there is a much cheaper all-natural option for hair repair! This tropical miracle fruit is also a great way to heal damaged hair. For years, I struggled with broken and crispy hair after going blonde. Just when I thought my hair was damaged beyond repair, I gave this a shot and saw results! It was a last-ditch effort and I was pleasantly surprised by the results and the super simple process. After you shower, all you need to do is apply a generous amount of coconut oil to damp hair and sleep with your hair in a turban. In the morning, shampoo and condition your hair as usual, and enjoy your healthy hair! If your hair isn’t fully healed the first time, you may repeat this process as needed!
