Maximize Your Day
We all have 24 hours given to us each day. How can you maximize your day? Certain actions we take can make our day better and more productive. The way we spend our time each day is critical to maintaining a healthy body and achieving success in our lives.
Eat right to maximize your day.
Starting your day right is essential. Eating a healthy breakfast is one of the best ways to impact your whole day. Consistently consuming a nutritious breakfast can also reduce the risk of developing cardiovascular disease. Avoid eating sweets in the morning because such food will make you tired and will not give you the energy you need throughout the day. Eggs are a great source of nutrients because they contain all essential proteins. If your health provider advises against eating eggs, try eating oatmeal and slicing up a banana to add extra flavor. If you are not fond of adding banana slices to your bowl of oatmeal, you could add a small amount of organic honey. You might be accustomed to snacking later in the day. Try to avoid snacking on junk food in between meals. Incorporate healthy food during those times you choose to have a snack. Almonds are another great source of protein and are a tasty addition to a salad or enjoyable when eaten solo.
Have a plan and avoid distractions to maximize time
List the goals you would like to achieve before the end of the day. Check them off as you complete them. You will find that this helps you get tasks done. Distractions notoriously deplete time and keep you from maximizing your day. The time-depleting cellular phone is one of the most common distractions in our modern world. Five minutes looking at your cell phone can quickly turn into 15 minutes. If you are at home, place your phone in another room with the ringer on high volume so you can hear incoming calls and important text messages. Turn off alerts to unnecessary applications on your phone to help keep you from gazing at the blue-lighted distraction.
Exercise regularly and sleep well
Scientists confirm that people who exercise regularly have more energy each day. Perhaps you can walk around your neighborhood during the twilight hour to collect vitamin D from less harsh sun rays. Furthermore, sunlight will help you sleep better at night. Researchers found that for many people, exposure to sunlight is most valuable in the morning within an hour of waking up from sleep. The number of sleep hours you get each night will also impact how the next day will go. The Sleep Foundation recommends adults sleep between seven to nine hours every night.
Vital factors for achieving better sleep include:
- Going to bed at the same time each night
- Rising from bed at the same time each morning
- Evading electronic devices at least half-hour before bedtime
- Avoiding caffeine for several hours before going to bed.
