Looking to get health care through the Affordable Care Act in 2025? The Open Enrollment Period is currently happening. It isn’t too late!
Save the Date to Get Health Care
Every year, the Open Enrollment Period allowing individuals to enroll in receiving health insurance through the Affordable Care Act takes place between November 1st and January 15th of the following year. While the enrollment window may seem small, you do have virtually the entire year to get prepared to ensure you make it in time! The sooner you enroll, the better. Anyone who enrolls before December 15th at midnight can begin utilizing their coverage on January 1st.

If You Miss the OEP, How Can You Qualify for ACA Health Care?
If you missed the OEP, don’t worry! There is what is known as the Special Enrollment Period to help those who were unable to enroll during OEP. There are a few ways you may qualify, including:
- Household Changes – Major changes within your household include the death of the person causing you to lose your plan, having a child, adopting a child, getting divorced, or getting married. Note, if you turn 26 years old after the OEP, this birthday can qualify you too.
- Residence Changes – If you change your residency you may qualify, such as moving from a new county/zipcode to another or immigrating to the United States and gaining citizenship. There are other specific situations, such as if you are a seasonal worker or student.
- Loss of Coverage – A person can become qualified if they expect to lose coverage or have recently lost coverage in the next 60 days or past 60 days, respectively.
- And more.
