Options for Open Enrollment as Told by Jeff Hess
Well, we got options, which is a good thing. By now, we’re a week into the open enrollment for 2018. Some people have gotten letters from their carriers, that they have changes in their healthcare. Some received notices stating that their rates are going to be going up.
My suggestion is to get with your agent, and if you don’t have an agent, then give us a call at Empower Brokerage. We can definitely help because you do have options. First, you’ve got the Affordable Care Act, which can be a great option for some people if it fits their needs. For those of you that may not be getting subsidies and are relatively healthy, we’ve got short-term medical plans as an option. Its significantly less expensive, and you can see pretty much any doctor you want and have coverage. Lastly, we have fixed indemnity plans.
As you can see, there’s more than one option out there for you to choose from. However, you won’t know which is the right option for you until you get with an agent. Don’t listen to your neighbor, some guy at a coffee shop, or people at church. Get with your agent because they’re the best source of information. They’ll know the insurance industry and be able to find out what the real deal is. And then you can make an educated decision on what’s best for you and or your family. That would be my suggestion.
ACA Season is at hand lasting from November 1st to December 15th. Every year there is a change in the ACA as a whole, and it’s important to know those changes. For 2018, the ACA marketplace has made it possible for each county in the United States to have an affordable individual health insurance plan available. Since insurance is often times overwhelmingly confusing, we want to shed light on this industry by answering YOUR questions.
